Yoga is not just Hata Yoga. True Yoga is one which must lead you in the path of highest TRUTH. Of course physical wellness is important, but that's not only Yoga is for. If your goal is not realizing the Self, then Yoga is no good.
Yoga essentially means "Union", Oneness with the rest of the Existence. Moving away from this mundane person to ultimate Presence.
Experience that which connects to the nature, starts from within us and permeate the entire Universe. Yoga that helps us understand & be in that reality is real Yoga.

The important point here is the "EXPERIENCE" within us. There are many types of Yoga, such as Hatha yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Jnana Yoga etc., Unless you experience and see the transformation within you, you won't settle for any less and no yoga is useful then. Every human is at a stage of life and maturity and based on their nature, must choose the Yoga practices. A carefully tailored method of essential mix of Yoga would be very effective, instead simply following the crowd. Not everyone can do every type of yoga, not necessary also. Because everyone is unique individuals.
Apparently, now the biggest question goes... how will one genuinely know which yoga, where to start and when to switch to another type if already you're on some yoga... Well, it varies depending on the individual's maturity, readiness & willingness.
Find a true Guru or Guide and see the life's magic.
