Q: Ravi, why do you say this world is just a dream and only an illusion?

Ravi: Where are you coming from?

Q: Mexico.

Ravi: How did you reach India, flight, train, then bus to Rishikesh, right?

Q: Yes.

Ravi: So, the body only had a little bit of movement. It walked from home to a cab, within the Airport, and a few other walks here and there. But otherwise, some container service, or conveyance, only brought this body here, now up to this Satsang, correct?

Q: Yes.

Ravi: All our experiences happen only within ourselves. They arise from the mind and then dissolve within the mind. When you travel from Mexico to India, does your body move? No! It is the flight that moves, right? The flight actually carries the body from Mexico to India, correct?

Here, your “I”-ego travelled from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’, which is nothing but a superimposition on your body. Because of that “I” ego which is engraved in the body and mind, all visions, the dream-states, and even reincarnations are superimposed on your real Self.

The space-like Self does not move and is not affected by all these movements and changes. e.g., if you see the space, everything moves in the space; everything means, right from the ocean, waves, fire, air, people, everything moves in the space; but space does not move. Why? You are space-like. This ‘you’ that we are referring to, here, is not the body-you or the mind-you, but the Self that you really are!

In deep sleep, are you aware of time or space? Time and space are of the “I”, mind and ego, which is a limitation.

If you assume you’re the body, you have a world. This is an illusion. If you realize that you’re not the body, you’re not the mind, only then will you know these are just like mirage-like images, superimposed because of the "I"-ego. Even after knowing it is not water, the mirage will appear again and again. So does the body; this is true for the realized ones also. But the "I" ego identification is removed from the realized ones; they are not under any illusion.

You don’t know whether you exist or not in your sleep, no questions asked. Now, because you’re identifying yourself with your body, all questions and doubts arise!
